Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. She made her first appearances in television shows in the role of Jackie Harris, a character played by her mother in Roseanne, an ABC show Roseanne. Perry did not decide to pursue acting as a career after reaching the age of adulthood due to her parents being concerned about the adverse impact stress might be a cause of. Perry was shy during high school and did not act. Her first acting experience was in the year 2000 at Northwestern University to gain friends when she moved from Boston University. Perry, after graduating from Boston University, relocated into New York in search of TV roles. Her small part was on shows such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But, her home-sickness drove her to California for theater roles. Perry performed with her mom in The Other Place at Broadway the previous year. Her father Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer prize-winning film Anna Christie together with her in 2015. Perry played nine roles in the ABC drama The Family, in 2016. In 2017, she starred in an recurring role in the ABC Political thriller Scandal starring her father. The same year her character was cast the younger version of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) on Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again portraying a younger version of her mother's character. The character was chosen via auditions the fact that she had a deep association with it.
